The popular Warri Kingdom has debunked the death of Olu of Warri His Royal Majesty Ogiame Ikenwoli following an earlier report of his death.
Reports came up yesterday that the famous Delta monarch died on Monday.
According to the report, He was said to have died from COVID-19 associated illness after his health allegedly deteriorated on Sunday evening.
Director of Palace Administration, Olu of Warri Palace, Chief Maleghemi, on Tuesday, announced that the reported death of Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli was false.
In a statement in Warri made available to journalists, Chief Maleghemi said “His Majesty is indisposed and currently receiving medical attention by a team of qualified medical specialists.”
The statements read;
“The attention of the palace of His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli, the Olu of Warri has been drawn to the News/social media publications announcing the sudden demise of His Majesty.”
“We wish to notify the general public that His majesty is indisposed and currently receiving medical attention from a team of qualified medical specialists.”
“Any further information on the subject would be made known to the general public by the office of the traditional prime minister of Warri Kingdom Chief Ayirimi Emami, the Ologbotsere of Warri kingdom”.
